I'm weary of the word "reform."

But by whatever name it is called, many jurisdictions are changing to optical scan voting systems.

Oklahoma has used optical scan devices and one ballot printer for almost all ballots for every statewide election for ten years. Anyone who knows optical scan has learned more than they want to know about ballot printing.

"Our" printer, Royal Printing of Oklahoma City, is interested in expanding. They are responsible and ethical and I trust that they will not jeopardize our elections by offering to do others.

You may receive information from  Royal Printing or you may have jurisdictions moving into optical scan. If you have any interest, I commend them to you.

I don't worry about ballot printing.

That may be the best endorsement I can give and experienced election officials will understand that it may be the highest possible.

Oklahoma's uniform statewide election and precinct-based optical scan voting system has earned positive national attention and is viewed by many as the "model" for election reform.

The ballot is a crucial part of our system. A minor glitch or delay could be a disaster. You print millions of perfect ballots for Oklahoma on time at a cost I've been told by your competitors is the lowest in the nation.

Thanks to you, your family and staff, I don't worry about ballot printing.
